Benteler Automotive is Hiring a Human Resources Manager Near Holland, MI

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team. The Plant Human Resources Manager will coordinate and direct the strategic support and administrative functions of a manufacturing location. Managing the local HR team, they will coordinate strategic planning with executive management, oversee full-cycle recruiting, and serve as a link between the organization's management and its employees

Position Responsibility

  • Implement both the global and regional HR strategy, adapting as necessary according to local needs.
  • Implements both the global and regional programs and policies, adapting as necessary according to local needs and challenges
  • Anticipates recruitment needs in advance in order to ensure adequate staffing in terms of quantity and quality; manages local staffing needs (permanent and temporary)
  • Ensures fair and competitive compensation according to internal policies and regulations as well as labor law and council/union agreements; optimizes personnel costs considering aspects such as productivity, profitability and job satisfaction
  • Ensures the continuous development of employees by identifying needs and developing concepts and organizing respective trainings
  • Advises on organizational structures and changes and supports reorganizations
  • Ensures accurate and timely KPI reporting. Derives and initiates permanent corrections in case of deviations and monitors the implementation and effectiveness
  • Acts as first contact and negotiation partner for the local union
  • Ensures professional support of supervisors and employees concerning employee/employer relations issues
  • Advises Management Team concerning employment law and human resource topics
  • Participates and/or leads global/regional projects/ initiatives
  • Establishes and maintains an effective, efficient and motivated HR workforce, organization and processes

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, advanced degree preferred
  • 10 years of experience in Human Resources
  • 3 years of experience in a union environment
  • Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Working knowledge of US labor laws and employment laws (ADA, FLSA, FMLA)
  • Experience with HRIS software (ADP, SAP)
