The Banquet Captain will support our mission by ensuring the seamless execution of banquets and events by delivering memorable experiences for the Belmont Park guests. Responsible for learning the basic operations of the management staff, maintaining a positive work environment, training, and direction of the floor staff to better meet our customer’s needs and company’s financial goals.

What will you do:

• Assist the Senior Banquet Manager with day-to-day banquet operations as required.
• Oversee all aspects of assigned banquet function activities, ensuring that all areas are properly set and ready for execution at the appropriate time.
• Anticipate client’s requests and proactively provide expectational service to guests.
• Disseminate the Event BEO information to staff and address any questions and concerns they may have regarding the event.
• Hold pre-shift meetings to review BEO details and selected service standards with the banquet staff.
• Provide leadership and delegate tasks to banquet staff, including servers, bartenders and setup crews.
• Ensure that all staff members adhere to the venue’s dress code and grooming standards.
• Monitor the performance of banquet staff and encourage them to perform their duties professionally and efficiently.
• Consistently provide professional, attentive, and genuine friendly service to guests.
• Maintain effective communication with the event coordinator, kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth execution of events.
• Keep accurate records of event details, guest counts, menu selections and special arrangements for future reference.
• Ensures that food and beverages are served promptly and in accordance with the client's specifications.
• Handle any guest complaints or issue properly and fairly.
• Oversee the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, decorations, and any necessary audio-visual equipment.
• Ensure the venue is clean and well-maintained before and after each event.
• Maintain banquet equipment to ensure it's in proper working condition.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation regulations, including responsible service of alcohol, and ensure staff compliance.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.
