Job Title: Head Administrative AssistantJob Family: ClassifiedDepartment: Bea Underwood ElementaryFLSA Status: Non-exemptPay Range: Office/Clerical Salary Schedule: $20.63- $36.11 per hourJob ID#: 1296 SUMMARY: Provide clerical support to the building as needed. Administer first aid and medical care for injured or ill students and staff, provide physician ordered care or procedures, conduct screening programs and assure compliance with state health and immunization laws. Maintain health records, health action plans and billing for Medicaid reimbursable procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. PRODUCTIVE CITIZEN:•Compile, print, and distribute information; may assist in preparing specific reports for analysis of attendance data.•Assist visitors, answer inquiries, provide information and direct to appropriate school areas.•Criminal background check required for hire. •Customer service and public relations skills. •Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. •Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance requirements, including regular and punctual employee presence. •Ability to promote and follow Board of Education policies, Superintendent policies and building and department procedures. •Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively in a team setting AGENCY:•Organize, schedule and implement health screening programs to include: vision, hearing, dental, etc. Record, track results, make recommendations for follow-up care for students who did not pass initial testing.•Communicate with parents and school personnel regarding student information. •Assist in preparing required state and special program reports.•Input and maintain up-to-date records, student lists and filing systems as it pertains to overall student data. •Interpersonal relations, critical thinking and problem solving skills. •Ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities with frequent interruptions. PERSONAL WELLNESS:.•Diffuse conflicts and/or difficult situations as needed in the school office. •Monitor building visitors, visitor sign-in procedures, student sign-in and sign-out procedures and building activities including crisis situations such as building evacuations, lockdowns, emergency situations and safety procedures. •May initiate crisis procedures in the administrator’s absence with direction from appropriate officials. •Report suspected child abuse or neglect as required by law.•Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator. •The physical demands, work environment factors and mental functions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
