POSITION SUMMARY:The IT Project Manager ('Project Manager') manages medium to large information system-enabled, cross-functional projects supporting business objectives. The Project Manager creates, develops, and implements project plans consistent with objectives, business requirements, timelines, and budget constraints. The Project Manager provides oversight and management, leading teams of information technology professionals, business partners, and vendors to execute projects.JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide leadership on IT projects of varying size and complexityAbility to quickly adapt to various systems and application functionalityAssist with the development of Request for Proposal (RFP), Statement of Work (SoW), and vendor selectionAccountable for the definition, planning, scheduling, execution, and successful completion of assigned projectsIdentify risk factors and contingency plans, communicate project status and critical risk factors to stakeholders, and escalate issues to adjust project scope, resources, or timelinesValidate plan scope and associated time/resource estimates with supporting business owners and customersConsult directly with resource managers to confirm resource availability and allocationsManage project tasks to achieve designated milestones and timelinesCollaborate with architecture and operational teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standardsEnsure that assigned projects are completed within estimated hours, established completion dates, and approved budgetEnsure accuracy of project charges and time reporting, report variances, and provide financial forecastsEnsure that the project team understands and adheres to established project delivery methodsEnsure project management best practices are applied to all project areas, including scope, timeline, budget, resources, risks, and communicationsEnsure the business customer receives the solution as identified in the business requirements and scope of the projectDevelop and follow appropriate transition plans to move projects from integration to ongoing supportDocument lessons learned and incorporate findings into future projectsEstablish and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, stakeholders, and project team membersPerform all responsibilities within IT policies and directives at or above performance and evaluation standardsMINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration, and/or equivalent work experience in a related field7-10 years of IT and/or related industry work experience, with at least 5 years of experience managing IT projectsExperience working within a Project Management OfficeActive PMP CertificationProficient in Waterfall project delivery methodologies, experience with Agile is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to conduct highly effective presentations with audiences both large and small- Excellent interpersonal skills and highly experienced in dealing with individuals at all levelsFamiliarity with ITIL concepts and the ability to follow problem, change, and incident management processes and proceduresExcellent understanding of technology life cycles and the concepts and practices required to implement effective information systemsTime management skills and multitasking capabilities to handle multiple concurrent projectsSelf-starter who is well organized and an effective proactive leader who takes the initiative to meet personal, departmental, and corporate goals.Results-oriented with excellent communication, writing, interpersonal, verbal, and organizational skillsMust be able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environmentExperience delivering solutions that align with business strategiesMust be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with business partnersDemonstrated team-building skillsAbility to deal with internal employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitudeWillingness to travel to company locations (up to 10%)Regular and reliable attendancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Significant knowledge in subject matters on both IT and the business (oil and gas industry) a plusWorking knowledge of industry-leading corporate, financial, CTRM, and ETRM applications (Oracle Financials Cloud, Hyperion, Allegro, SharePoint, Maximo, Power BI, Right Angle, Aligne, Endur)Working knowledge of ServiceNow Project and Demand applicationsMPM, CPM, CAPM, PMI-ACP, CSM, ITIL, Six Sigma, or equivalent certification is a plusEQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:Targa Resources provides equal employment opportunities based on merit, experience, and other work-related criteria and without regard to race, color, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sex, age, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
