Bay Area Retina Associates is Hiring a Business Development Representative Near Walnut Creek, CA

Description

Bay Area Retina Associates (BARA) is an established Ophthalmology practice with over 35 years in the industry, renowned as a premier group of highly skilled ophthalmologists specializing in state-of-the-art retinal treatments. With nine conveniently located facilities across the Bay Area, our unwavering commitment is to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Position Overview

The Business Development Representative is responsible for nurturing relationships with current referral partners and identifying and pursuing new partnership opportunities to drive growth and increase patient referrals. The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of the Ophthalmology and Retinal market, competitors, and possess excellent interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and potential partnerships to increase patient referral.
  • Meet or exceed monthly referral goals and quotas assigned by the Chief Administrator Officer.
  • Develop and implement business plans and strategies to achieve growth goals.
  • Develop sustained relationships, with health care providers, Ophthalmology and Optometry partners, office staff and industry organizations.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to network and identify new referral opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay up to date on market trends and competition.
  • Continually gathers information on competitive intelligence, prevalent industry, and communicates information to management and others as needed.
  • Must have a good understanding of the services offered to educate potential partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities and results to senior management.
  • Monitor and analyze referral patterns, identify any significant decreases in referral numbers, and proactively reach out to referring doctors to understand the underlying causes. Take corrective actions as necessary to maintain and improve referral volumes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in medical business development, sales, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in Ophthalmology preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A positive, enthusiastic, self-starter and tenacious attitude.
  • A creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
  • Proven track record of exceeding goals
