The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility maintenance, ensuring that the building, equipment, and systems are properly maintained to support the organization's operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial food production, with experience supervising a team. They should possess excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to effectively manage maintenance activities.
Job Duties:
· Plan and coordinate equipment installations, rebuilds, and enhancements.
· Manage routine equipment maintenance along with preventive & predictive maintenance programs
· Create preventive maintenance and work instructions for new equipment.
· Keep appropriate parts and tools in stock
· Maintain documentation for all activities performed in house or through 3rd party service vendors and supervise external contractors as needed
· Work with other Managers to ensure OSHA, FDA and other regulations trained, followed, and enforced
· Oversee on-site fueling, waste disposal, building security, and fire code compliance
· Train and develop one or more maintenance technicians
· Conduct regular inspections to identify equipment or facility issues and address them promptly
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and minimal downtime
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inventory, and equipment history
· Manage the budget for maintenance operations and optimize costs
Job Requirements:
· Knowledge of setup and troubleshooting of high-speed manufacturing equipment such as mixers, depositors, ovens, shrink wrappers, date coders, labelers, case erectors, printers and taping/palletizing machines
· Proven experience as Manager or relevant position working in a food manufacturing facility
· Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent organizational and leadership skills
· Prefer OHSA 20 Certified
· Abide by and spearhead company safety initiatives while complying with Local, State, FDA, and GFSI requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
· Proven experience in facilities management or food production
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise a team
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management or commercial food manufacturing
- Strong mechanical knowledge, understanding of electrical and refrigeration systems
- Proven experience in supervising a team of technicians
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Project management skills to plan and execute maintenance projects
