Aspire Living & Learning is Hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Near Pikesville, MD

We are a non-profit human services agency making a meaningful difference in the lives of adults and children with autism and other disabilities. Currently seeking a Delegating RN to provide strong clinical, time management and problem-solving skills according to the Nurse Practice Act and mandatory DDA regulations and guidelines.

What you will do:

  • Oversee training and quality of care provided by CNA/CMT to ensure compliance with Aspire Living & Learning policies and procedures and Maryland Board of Nursing/DDA guidelines.
  • Oversee case management and delegation of nursing tasks to include medication administration.
  • Formulate nursing care plans for individuals following standards of care set forth in the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Conducts ongoing nursing assessments every 45 days to include review of the physician orders, MARs, medications and nursing care plan.
  • Provide training to CMT/DSPs on Individual’s Nursing care plan and skills required to care for the individual.
  • Complete observations of medication administration by CMTs in the individual’s home.
  • Update Individuals HRST (Health Risk Screening Tool) every 45 days and complete Clinical Reviews as required.
  • Review next month’s PMOFs/MARs against current Physician orders prior to distributing them to the house.
  • On-call responsibilities via telecommunication to triage and delegate as necessary. 
  • Provide on-call nursing report to the group via e-mail every morning while on-call.
  • Frequent and collaborative communication with the team and between departments regarding individuals’ health management to include medical appointments, medical needs/concerns, medication changes, medication errors, and staff training.
  • Assist staff in effectively communicating with health care providers and other health care professionals the needs of the individuals. 
  • Communicate effectively with hospitals/SNFs/Rehabs to obtain medical updates on individuals as well as discharge information/paperwork.
  • Assessment of individual after discharge from hospital/SNF/Rehab to include visit to site and updating the Nursing Care plan within 24hours of returning home.
  • Communicates effectively with pharmacy any concerns or needs.
  • Support families and guardians of individuals by communicating medical/health updates, as needed.
  • Attend meetings required by the agency, including monthly nursing meetings and CMRO quarterly meetings.
  • Complete Quarterly Nursing Audit of medical documentation scanned or entered into Therap for each individual.

What we are looking for:

  • Valid license as registered nurse in the State of Maryland
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (preferred)
  • Must have DDA experience or have worked with IDD.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years nursing experience
  • Competency across all age groups
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in Aspire Living & Learning Residential Homes with no weight lifting restrictions.
  • Proficient computer and typing skills
