Role Summary:

The Senior Data Analyst is pivotal in supporting the analytical department's initiatives, focusing on the meticulous analysis of both micro and macro-level data to inform and enhance strategic decision-making across the company. This role is designed for a data enthusiast who thrives on interpreting complex datasets to provide actionable insights, thereby maintaining our competitive edge and propelling us forward in the marine shipping and transportation industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis & Interpretation: Conduct in-depth analysis of large datasets, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities within our financial performance, operational efficiency, and market dynamics.
• Report Generation: Develop, maintain, and improve comprehensive reports and dashboards that track and highlight key performance indicators (KPIs), presenting data in an actionable format to stakeholders.
• Strategic Support: Provide analytical support to strategic planning efforts, offering data-driven insights to guide decision-making processes.
• Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and IT, to ensure data integrity and the effective integration of analytical findings into the broader business strategy.
• Innovation & Improvement: Identify and propose innovative data analysis and modeling techniques to uncover operational improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
• Industry Benchmarking: Keep abreast of industry trends and benchmarks to inform analyses and anticipate potential business impacts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field. Master’s degree highly regarded.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, preferably within the finance and operations sectors. Experience in the marine shipping and transportation industry is an asset.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
• Solid understanding of financial modeling and operational efficiency metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to work on projects with a proven track record of delivering actionable insights.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex data concepts in simple terms.
