Ascendo Resources is Hiring an Estimator Near Cranbury, NJ

Salary: $60k - 85k per year

Our client in Cranbury, New Jersey is looking for an Estimator to join their team. The Estimator plays a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately estimating the costs associated with framing projects. This individual will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates that align with project requirements and budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in estimation and a strong desire to contribute to the growth of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand the scope of work and project requirements
  • Conduct material take-offs and quantify the materials needed for framing, including lumber, hardware, and other components
  • Utilize cost databases, historical data, and industry knowledge to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information and clarify project details
  • Identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities during the estimation process and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project efficiency
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals, including pricing breakdowns, scope of work summaries, and any other required documentation
  • Present estimates to management and participate in bid review meetings to discuss pricing strategies and project requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, including revisions, updates, and correspondence related to each project
  • Stay current with industry trends, construction methods, and material costs to ensure competitiveness in the market
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to promote collaboration and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in framing estimation within the construction industry
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management , engineering, or related field (preferred)
