As framing contractors, our scope of work typically includes everything from the construction of floors, walls, roofs, sheathing, soffits and fascias to the installation of doors, windows and stairs. We can also customize our scope to respond to the varied needs of our builders/clients. This position works closely with and reports to the Estimating Manager, is responsible for estimating and tracking of construction projects and implementing measures to increase the company’s effectiveness and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

Prepare complete estimate for selected project with detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, contracting, etc.

Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.

Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.

Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.

Include value-engineering ideas on every bid, offer constructive alternatives for missing elements (is willing to think 2 steps ahead to interpret any missing information)

Complete take-offs at a subcontractor level (carpentry and framing experienced preferred).

Evaluate products’ cost-effectiveness or profitability and make proper recommendations to increase profit margin.

Other duties may be added/changed for new projects or as different situations arise.

What do you need to succeed?

Bachelor’s degree, or combination of education plus experience in commercial construction

Experience with wood, and metal framing

Experience takeoff and blueprint knowledge is a plus

Experience with analyzing Information, tracking budgets, reporting skills, teamwork and quality focus a must.

Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Ability to read plans and specifications

Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,992.91 - $75,000.00 per year
