Job Description :
RVCC is currently hiring for a front desk person in the Tutoring Center. This position will support the administrative needs of the Tutoring Center.
We are currently looking to hire a candidate that will be available to work the following schedule :
Monday-Thursday 1pm - 6 : 30pm
Essential Duties :
Greet and direct students to appropriate areas of tutoring services; supervise traffic flow.
Schedule appointments for students, answer questions, assist with sign-in, computers and supplemental materials as needed.
Develop, implement and maintain essential systems for supplies and resources to keep the center running efficiently.
Assist with maintenance of the Tutoring Center technology.
Assist with the creation and dissemination of promotional strategies.
Create, maintain and update handouts, documents and records using Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsible for following opening procedures.
Clean out cabinets, drawers, files, closets when required.
Assist in securing copies of textbooks and other necessary materials for the center.
Greet students, assess their needs for academic support, and direct them to appropriate campus offices as necessary .
Provide additional support to supervisors / managers as necessary; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Associate's degree required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of Banner, databases and websites is a plus.
Excellent organizational, communications, interpersonal, flexibility and clerical skills are necessary to be successful in this position.
Available to work with colleagues to cover absences as needed.
Must be detail oriented and must have ability to work in an active environment with constant interruptions.
The ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor during periods of high demand is required.
