Jr. Construction Estimator

Hours: M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm daily.
About the job: 
  • This position is responsible for all aspects of the bidding process.
  • Prepare bid lists.
  • Issue bid packages for all disciplines including detailed scopes of work.
  • Utilize on-screen takeoff software.
  • Maintain and update directory of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate, prepare, and issue subcontracts.
  • Prepare construction estimates and order of magnitude budgets.
  • Develop value engineering concepts with estimated cost savings.
  • Note that this position will be responsible to report to a Senior Estimator and the VP of Construction.
 
Required: 
  • BS degree in Engineering (Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical preferred).
  • 5-10 years of construction experience with commercial and industrial projects.
  • Communication skills to establish and maintain good vendor relationships, and to work with a team to accomplish related results.
  • Decision making and estimating skills to develop budgets.
  • Reporting and documentation skills to present information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Analytical skills to analyze and present information.
  • Organizational skills to maintain quality service standards.
  • Exceptional software skills using industry-related computer systems (Takeoff Software, Microsoft Office).
