Human Resources Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Human Resources Manager is expected to: • Protect the legal, financial and moral wellbeing of the dealerships, Miller Automotive Operations, Saxton Horne and Total Care Auto;
  • Educate personnel of all applicable company procedures, policies and benefits;
  • Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful;
  • Seek ways to improve business operations efficiencies and customer service.
REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources
PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards or regulations.
  • Assist with hiring functions and process hiring related paperwork.
  • Maintain current knowledge of employment and leave laws and guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination leaves while utilizing appropriate HR software.
  • Assist to conduct and oversee personnel investigations with dealerships, Miller Automotive Operations, Saxton Horne and Total Care Auto.
  • Assist to conduct regular employment law training with management.
  • Assist with benefit related HRIS processes.
  • Assists Miller Automotive Operations in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for automotive employees.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Assist to conduct reference checks, background checks, drug screens, new employee orientations and benefit enrollment for Miller Automotive Operations employees.
  • Assists in exit interview process.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and compiles reports from database as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • 5 years’ experience in the HR field with investigation responsibilities. Preferably within dealership setting.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word; proficiency in Ceridian DayForce desirable.
  • Comfortable creating and conducting presentations.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Good organizational and multi-tasking skills; detail oriented.
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% annually.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work performed in an office and dealership settings.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.

  • Quality control—the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Adaptability—the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Dependability—the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Safety and security—the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.
