THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SECURITY ASSISTANT (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2478000 and is part of the IL DCSOPS, National Guard.
Qualifications:
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:
Military Grades: Enlisted - May not exceed the rank of SPC.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST - possess the experience, education, and/or training for clerical or administrative work which indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-07 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience, education, or training which includes 12 months experience, in the performance of clerical or administrative duties in an office environment; have experience performing office functions using computers and automation systems; experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control. GS-06 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience, education, or training which includes 9 months experience, in the performance of clerical or administrative duties which demonstrates a working knowledge of general office routines and functions; experience using computers and automation systems. GS-05 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience, education, or training which includes 6 months experience, in the performance of clerical or administrative duties which demonstrates a working knowledge of general office routines and functions.
In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Responsibilities:
As a SECURITY ASSISTANT (TITLE 32), GS-0086-5/6/7, you will serve as a Security Assistant, responsible for assisting in the personnel security clearances process and supporting an Administrator/Adjudicator with suitability adjudications /determinations for the fitness and suitability on individuals for entry and retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions required by Army.Full Time
