    Reports to the school principal. Collaborates with members of the school administration. Supports, and mentors community members, especially students, and fosters a vibrant school community.

    Summary
    The Director of Student Life is delegated primary responsibility by the Principal for the overall long-term planning, coordination, development, and evaluation of programs in the areas of student life (i.e. student activities, student behavior, student safety, athletics, and attendance). Areas of primary direction include school-wide student life program development and monitoring, administrative support for exceptional student behavioral matters, staff professional development, and other related tasks and applicable student life matters.
    Areas of shared responsibility and direction include student intervention support (with the Assistant Principal of Student Services), faculty development, especially when planning and coordinating special events, school culture/climate, and fostering the mission of Resurrection College Prep High School.

    Qualifications
    Dispositions: The successful candidate will aim to mediate a Catholic culture within the school faith community; communicate Catholic moral and intellectual values; demonstrate precision, accuracy, self-direction, and collaboration in all areas of responsibility; develop joyful and professional interpersonal relationships with stakeholders; and view their service as a vocation that is grounded in truth, charity, hope, and joy.


    Experience: The successful candidate will possess at least five years of experience in an accredited secondary school with demonstrated experience in developing and fostering collaborative and dynamic relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will also have experience leading a robust student activities program which includes experience collaborating with other schools, planning all special events and activities for students, managing clubs, and overseeing student behavior. Experience gained in a Catholic setting significantly strengthens the application.

    Education and licensure: The successful candidate must possess a graduate degree as well as a valid State of Illinois (or state with appropriate reciprocity) professional educator license and endorsements as either Principal or Teacher leader. All candidates must take and pass the necessary protocols to evaluate professional staff within the first year of employment.

    Broader Activities within Student LIfe

    In collaboration with the Principal, the Director of Student Life will:

    1. Work with the principal to evaluate the current student life offerings and implement new ideas and improvements to the current programming.

    2. Organize and be responsible for all school-sponsored, non-athletic activities taking place on campus, including, but not limited to, fine arts performances and showcases, mixers with other local schools, and all dances.

    3. Provide administrative guidance and support in the areas of student behavioral monitoring and interventions at the building level

    4. Serve as the liaison between the administration and parents/guardians around all external student events.

    5. Oversee the dean of students and student behavior and attendance matters.

    6. Assist the principal in working with athletic events and celebrations

    7. Support the admission director in leading activities to recruit new students

    8. Support mission and ministry by collaborating on service experiences for students

    9. Support the Lasallian Charism by incorporating faith-based activities and experiences for all students.

    10. Support the strategic plan, especially in the area of student life by empowering student leaders.

    11. Assist with overall communication from the teaching and learning team.

    Specific Tasks

    1. Data analysis on trends and insights from student activities to inform policy and practices

    2. Assist the principal in evaluating the athletic program.

    3. Supervise and evaluate the dean of students including analyzing behavior interventions and and attendance practices.

    4. Evaluate and coordinate co-curricular activities, honor societies and club offerings

    5. Chairs school climate committee

    6. Organize and execute non-athletic events for the school.

    7. Coordinate health services and building security

    8. Lead Crisis Management Plan team and oversight

    9. Manage and coordinate professional development for staff on student life/safety
