Summary

Responsible for directing and supervising a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures with regard to in-process material and finished products to assure that quality control standards are achieved.

Key Performance Targets

· Drive product quality from a customer perspective from concept to launch.

· Investigate production and quality issues, determining root cause and developing corrective actions as appropriate.

· Support quality assurance, engineering, and operation departments with techniques and methodologies for first article, in-process, and final inspections.

· Oversee internal and external quality audits to the AS9100 standard.

· Manage continuous improvement projects to shorten production cycle times, improve process efficiencies, and deliver conforming product.

· Analyze customer feedback across many different categories and identify and prioritize areas to improve the customer experience.

· Establish, manage, and monitor key performance metrics for suppliers, department managers, Quality, Operations and customer feedback.

· Identify and manage risks in the new product development cycle and address realized risks in production.

Basic Qualifications

• 4-year degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or physical sciences.
• In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards with strong ability to communicate requirements to upper management and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Experience in dimensional metrology and measurement systems using open setup and coordinate measuring machines with a strong foundation in ASME Y14.5.
• Experience in manufacturing operations, risk management, auditing, and quality management systems.
• Comfortable communicating and presenting to senior management and cross-functional teams in a way that enables non-technical team members to understand the quality requirements and metrics.
• Sound knowledge of manufacturing methods such as machining, injection molding, sintering, and cold working along with their process controls and opportunities for improvement.
• Experience creating, implementing and maintaining internal quality systems/document management systems, standards/SOPs for internal and external applications.
• Confident and tactful customer communication skills.
• Proven ability to mentor, train, coach, and develop others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record for cultivating strong relationships with key internal and external partners that have resulted in high customer satisfaction.
• Experience assessing supplier capability to deliver quality products to market and defining associated technical test parameters for new and current products understanding the end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain implications.
• Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data.
• Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management, ability to re-prioritize quickly, and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to own projects, think big, act quickly, and influence across all levels of an organization.
• Curiosity to dig several layers deep into metrics, have an innate desire to understand key drivers and whether they are the correct or best metrics to measure/manage a business or process.
• Diversified experience with entire product lifecycle and supply chain (R&D, scale-up, material sourcing, operations management, customer feedback).
• Experience in AS13100 standard requirements.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
