The ideal candidate for a Senior Cloud Support Engineer role would possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with relevant professional certifications in cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP, etc. They should have several years of experience in supporting cloud-based services and infrastructure, with proficiency in at least one programming language such as PowerShell. The ideal candidate should also possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. They should be excellent communicators, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, they should be familiar with DevOps methodologies and tools, security and compliance concepts, networking protocols, and database technologies. An ideal candidate should be a quick learner, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and implement high-performing, scalable, and secure cloud-based solutions on Azure adhering to industry best practices.
• Develop, test, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments in Terraform and other automation tools.
• Lead the optimization of architecture, both within individual software components and across the system, leveraging Azure services to ensure cost-efficiency.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and orchestration with tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.
• Develop comprehensive monitoring and alerting strategies across all levels of application infrastructure.
• Maintain rigorous security posture to protect and secure company assets, aligning with company and industry standards.
• Evaluate new cloud technologies and make substantive recommendations to improve existing infrastructures or build new ones.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance in project planning, project management, and organizing cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and team members on technology upgrades and cloud best practices.
• Participating in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Ensuring compliance with security and data privacy regulations, ISO 27100 / CMMC.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or similar role with a focus on Azure Cloud services including; Compute, Networking, Storage, Security, and Developer tools.
• Solid understanding and hands-on experience in implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Proven experience with CI/CD, testing, and monitoring frameworks in the Azure environment.
• Expertise in scripting languages such as Azure CLI, PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Azure Security, Monitoring, and Compliance offerings.
• Experience in troubleshooting distributed systems and diagnosing and resolving complex infrastructure issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
• Relevant professional certification (Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) is a strong plus.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with container technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with big data technologies (NetApp, Spark, Hadoop) and data-related Azure services.
• Participation in open-source projects or public cloud communities.
• Experience with machine learning and AI workloads on Azure.
