POSITION – Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Marketing and Promotion

JOB DUTIES  

Financial Performance: operating with sound fiscal management and integrity of the Foundation 

· Operate within the approved annual budget, maximize resources utilization, and maintain a positive financial position 

· Submit annual and monthly financial statements that accurately reflect the Foundation’s finances 

· Submit an annual proposed budget to the Board

  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with Foundation donors and sponsors 
  • Identify and create grant proposals and reports to both the Foundation and its funders

Acquisition of Resources: developing resources needed to support the Foundation’s mission 

· Responsible for fundraising, creating special events, identifying donors, obtaining sponsorships, and receiving grant funding 

· Create annual resource acquisition plans · Work closely/partner other professional, civic, and private organizations within the community to pool resources and strategically enhance the Foundation’s mission

  • Develop, increase, and manage the fundraising capacity of the Foundation

Organization Mission and Strategy: responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of programs that carry out the Foundation’s mission and goals in the present and in the future

  • Establish and maintain a strategic plan and annual goals

· Responsible for working in tandem with the board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach 

· Effective, timely, and accurately communicate with the board as well as transparently provide all information required for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions

  • Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and daily operations 
  • Lead staff in the development and implementation of short term and long term plans
  • Provide information, advice, and counsel to the Board in the development of policies, programs, and in the strategic direction of the Foundation 
  • Develop, implement, and achieve an annual work plan 
  • Responsible for reviewing and evaluating the results of initiatives and activities

Marketing: increase the community’s awareness, knowledge, and partnership with the Foundation

  • Enhance the Foundation’s image by increasing activity and visibility within the community
  • Serve as the Foundation’s primary spokesperson in the media and public Oversee marketing, communication, and publicity efforts
  • Responsible for development and leadership of new marketing strategies and outreach efforts

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • A bachelor’s degree OR equivalent experience in related field

· Demonstrated success with fundraising, fund development, and financial management

  • 5 years of demonstrated leadership success in non-profit fundraising and development, including cultivating and building relationships with individuals and foundations
  • A motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills 
  • Excellent oral and written communication and public speaking abilities
  • Experience with community leaders and donors 
  • High level strategic thinking and planning 
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff 
  • Solid organizational abilities, including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation 
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED 

· 5 years of nonprofit management experience

  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred 
  • A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results 
  • Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community 
  • Grant writing experience and experience managing events is helpful Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organizations of influence including funders, partner agencies and volunteers
