AMWINS is Hiring a Business Development Specialist Near North, RI

PURPOSE: The Business Development Specialist (BDS) position is responsible for supporting the Sales and Marketing efforts of the organization through the management of new prospects, new business implementation and the annual renewal process. The Business Development Specialist team plays a pivotal role in coordinating efforts amongst all departments including Sales and Account Management. The role offers high-level exposure to multiple business lines within the organization and provides team members with great opportunity for growth and industry experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage quoting, proposal generation, implementation, and renewal processes for multiple lines of business
  • Work directly with Sales team, providing input on sales and marketing strategies
  • Oversee and manage new business opportunities
  • Analyze and maintain various team and business tracking reports, as well as generating reports from internal systems and databases
  • Constantly collaborate with both internal and external parties for process streamlining and continuous improvement
  • Review and evaluate new business opportunities, working closely with sales and underwriting to gather necessary information
  • Develop and grow strong working relationships with external carriers and vendors for effective communication and negotiation
  • Remain up to date with available market products and healthcare industry trends
  • Track detailed sales activity daily, utilizing various tools, email, and web-based systems
  • Preliminary research using the internet and internal databases
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience generating, reviewing, and researching Request for Proposals
  • BA/BS, required, offsetting combination or education and experience will be considered
  • 3-5 years of experience in Customer Service, Sales, or Account Management
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or comparable industry, preferred

  • Highly creative and possess the ability to manage several projects concurrently
