DEPARTMENT: Administration

POSITION OBJECTIVE: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Project Manager to lead the execution of key organizational projects. This exciting opportunity involves playing a pivotal role in driving the success of critical initiatives that are aligned with the company's strategic goals and objectives. This position will be responsible for managing multiple projects, ensuring their on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery, all while embracing a proper project management approach. This is an opportunity to build a project management program from the ground up

REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, Administration

LOCATION: Schaumburg, Illinois (Hybrid)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop an overall project management philosophy, strategy, and culture
  • Develop and implement project plans and schedules, aligning them with overall strategic objectives and incorporating Agile principles
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects, leading cross-functional teams to achieve goals using proper methodologies
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and senior management, both formally and informally
  • Develop and manage project budgets and resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and adherence to financial constraints, while remaining flexible to accommodate the evolving needs of projects
  • Develop and implement robust risk management plans and track issues, ensuring timely mitigation and resolution, proactively identifying potential roadblocks or scope changes, and pivoting as needed
  • Conduct regular reviews and prepare comprehensive reports for senior management highlighting key decisions, adjustments, and successes achieved
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and identify opportunities for optimization

RELATIONSHIPS: This position collaborates closely with all stakeholders and departments within AmericanAg™

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR TRAINING: Bachelor's degree

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Five years of experience in project management
  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar industry certifications
  • Proven record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to high standards
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including both traditional (e.g., Waterfall) and Agile (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in reinsurance or insurance
  • Experience in building a project management culture from the ground up
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, adept at juggling multiple priorities and managing tasks efficiently within an Agile workflow
  • Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Trello)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Must be able to work at our Schaumburg, Illinois, headquarters at least three days each week

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $150,000 annually. Applicable salary ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position is also eligible for an annual productivity bonus.
