Projects Operations Manager - Houston, TX (Project Cargo Specialist)

Our client is a prominent global freight forwarder, firmly established in New York, celebrated for its pioneering solutions and customer-centric ethos. This role offers a long-term commitment, emphasizing on oversized Project Cargo.

Position Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead and oversee all project cargo operations at the Houston branch, focusing on specialized handling of oversized and Out of Gauge (OOG) shipments.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth and achieve revenue targets in the project cargo sector.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and stakeholders to enhance the company's reputation and market presence in project cargo logistics.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the branch team, with a particular emphasis on recruitment, training, and performance management for project cargo operations.
• Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and quality standards in project cargo handling.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess branch performance and identify opportunities for enhancement in project cargo operations.
• Collaborate closely with other branches and departments to optimize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in project cargo handling.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities in the project cargo logistics domain to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the freight forwarding industry, with a focus on project cargo operations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team, particularly in the specialized area of project cargo handling.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills essential for managing complex project cargo logistics.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking ability, specifically in the context of project cargo operations.
• Knowledge of Asian markets and experience working with Asian clients or partners is advantageous.
• Familiarity with freight forwarding software and technology solutions tailored for project cargo operations.
