Position Description:

The Warehouse AM Manager will ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of our distribution center. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the warehouse operation, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and warehouse staff management. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent organizational and leadership skills, as well as the ability to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

Warehouse AM Manager Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize workflow, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software tools to track and analyze key performance metrics, such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and warehouse productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards in all warehouse activities.
  • Able to operate warehouse equipment.
  • Able to train associates on SOP’s and Leadership trainings.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the warehouse team members fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to warehouse operations, including documentation, reporting, and record-keeping.
  • Monitors processes for opportunities to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Other operations-related office duties as needed.
  • Participate in long-term planning to create initiatives that align with company goals.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in warehouse operations management, preferably in a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software, routing software, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • A background in safety knowledge, including OSHA requirements and emergency training is preferred.
  • Lean Sigma Six courses preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, inventory control principles, and best practices in warehouse management.

Skills:

  • Time Management: Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and manage time to meet deadlines and operational goals in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skill in resolving conflicts and addressing disagreements among team members or with external stakeholders in a diplomatic and constructive manner.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and identify trends to improve warehouse operations and performance.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail when reviewing documents, tracking inventory, and managing administrative tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards and procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively to warehouse staff and management.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing priorities, business needs, and unexpected challenges in a dynamic warehouse environment.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify the root causes of operational issues, develop effective solutions, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve overall efficiency.
