Job Description

SUMMARY
The Vice President of Marketing will be responsible for overseeing marketing activities and initiatives for Align’s growing portfolio of lease-up and stabilized assets. This proactive, resourceful and creative self-starter will oversee a small, but mighty team and work collaboratively with the on-site teams and vendor partners to drive qualified traffic, achieve occupancy goals and maximize revenue.

This position can be located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Philadelphia.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and prioritize responsibilities and tasks of the marketing team including but not limited to digital advertising review and optimization, design requests, website and profile updates and more.
  • Participate in asset calls with ownership, providing performance data and recommendations for optimization.
  • Lead project-specific public relations efforts and serve as single point of contact for agency partners.
  • Regularly collaborate with asset management and on-site leasing teams about marketing campaign effectiveness and current challenges; ideate on creative solutions.
  • Define yearly marketing budgets in partnership with marketing team, using all available analytics and ROI data to inform recommendations.
  • Conduct monthly portfolio calls with ILS, SEM and social media vendors to review campaign success and discuss strategies for enhancement.
  • Oversee reputation management program and implement initiatives to improve reputation across the portfolio.
  • Along with the marketing team, guide on-site teams in the development and execution of quarterly resident event strategy using the Align brand pillars framework.
  • Collaborate with Vice President of New Development Marketing as needed on go-to-market plans.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and opportunities for growth for team members.
  • Stay abreast of competition and real estate marketing trends, making recommendations on new channels and opportunities.
  • Complete special projects and perform other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Some travel may be required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises marketing support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10 years of relevant real estate marketing experience, preferably in class-A multifamily
  • Digital marketing and social media marketing experience.
  • Residential property management systems experience including Yardi Voyager, Site Manager and CRM, as well as marketing and project management programs ie: Google Analytics, Basecamp and Mailchimp.
  • Knowledge of website content management systems including Wordpress, Square Space and others. Basic HTML helpful.
  • Knowledge of, and relationships with, industry vendors for advertising, branding, photography, printing, signage and graphic design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, well-organized and deadline oriented.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities, working well under pressure and handling stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • Graphic design experience a plus (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
  • Effectively interact with all levels of corporate and on-site team as well as external partners.
  • Must be located in San Francisco or Los Angeles and willing to travel both inside home market and to other markets as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, and at least seven (7) years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills including: MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), internet, social media (Facebook, Instagram, Google , YouTube, etc.). Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or Canva helpful.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
