Job Description
The Vice President, ABA Operations oversees the staff, clients, and facilities (clinics) for all Intercare Therapy Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) operations. This individual contributes medical services operations expertise in the Behavior Health / ABA space, team leadership, change management, and continual process improvement, to promote optimal outcomes for our four key stakeholders:
  • Clients: Sustain high quality operational and clinical practices, impactful client progress, excellent customer service and support for all clients and their caregivers
  • Staff: Support individualized professional development, pathways and bench planning, best-in-class hiring, training and day-to-day staff experience
  • Intercare Organization: Promote our brand, reputation, culture, and partner in developing aggressive organizational goals based on historic trends and data
  • Payor Partners: Fosters strong relationships with payor partners (insurance organizations), balancing positive impact on client progress and staff experience with unique funding source compliance, licensure, certification, and credentialing requirements
The impact of the daily work of the Vice President, ABA Operations optimizes these business results:
  • Employee Satisfaction & Retention minimizing turnover, recruiting, and training costs, and maximizing success and professional development of the clinical and operations team
  • Operational and Clinical KPIs resulting in delivery of high-quality ABA services and positive operational and financial site performance by tactical management of staff and client productivity, treatment intensity, scheduling efficiency, and long-term planning for hiring and client acquisition
  • Bottom Line Financial Performance for the ABA business by ensuring alignment of clinical and operational desired outcomes to revenue generation and cost efficiency
Salary: Starting at $160,000
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Ensures Intercare provides a differentiated, world-class product – known as the leader in the industry for clinical excellence and customer service 
  • Leads all tactical operations in partnership with clinical leadership and ensures consistent results for our four key stakeholders. 
  • Spearheads the ongoing business efforts to transition Intercare ABA services from primarily home-based treatment to primarily a clinic based operating model. 
  • Oversees a management team of up to seven direct reports, comprised of Region Directors and/or Region Clinical Directors across clinic, and home-based treatment settings. 
  • Develops and executes organization wide growth strategies with clinical partnership - including client and staff acquisition and retention; able to assess financial implications of decisions and actions in the context of the broader Intercare organization. 
  • Owns the plan to successfully manage Intercare clinics including designing and refining the clinic staffing model, the successful onboarding of all team members, and the implementation of operational processes within the clinic. 
  • Maintains clinical standards across home and clinic-based services 
  • Works cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal partners to support team members and execute on operational goals; stakeholders include Client Services, Talent Acquisition, HR, Training, Finance, Compliance, Facilities/Real Estate, and Product & Systems teams. 
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership to ensure high quality and consistent clinical service delivery across all disciplines; identifies clinical opportunities to improve revenue and profitability 
  • Represents the Company professionally at industry events and within local communities. 
  • Ensure enforcement of ICT policies and those of funding source, industry, state, and federal regulations 
Job Skills: 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite. 
  • BCBA, BCBA-D, PhD, or PsyD preferred
  • Excellent relationship management, customer service orientation, collaboration, and collaborator attitude with all four key stakeholders. 
  • Strong financial acumen and operations management expertise with proven performance around managing to EBITDA targets 
  • Adaptability/Flexibility and a general growth-oriented mindset. 
  • Experience working in a complex organization with the ability to manage multiple critical priorities across various stakeholders and departments; experience working in a dyad relationship a plus. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and leadership skills that foster the environment necessary to educate, train, motivate, empower, reinforce, influence, coach, provide feedback, and effectively execute conflict resolution. 
  • Demonstrates entrepreneurial bend and intellectual agility; ability to explore new possibilities and to approach issues differently, while effectively assessing business risk. 
  • Sensitive to working with an ethnically, linguistically, culturally, and economically diverse population. 
  • Travel to multiple work sites regularly; dependable transportation needed, proof of valid driver’s license, current auto insurance identification card and registration. 
  • Must clear DOJ/FBI background check and exclusion screening processes, prior to and during employment. 
  • Must provide proof of absence of Tuberculosis (TB) at time of hire and every 4 years, or sooner as required by funding sources, from last negative TB reading, and any additional follow-up testing. 
  • Must provide immunization/immunity to Hepatitis B, Rubella, Rubeola, Mumps, Varicella, Pertussis (whooping cough). 
  • Documentation of Physical Capability to Perform Services (with or without reasonable accommodation). 
  • Permission to Disclose Health Screening Medical Information to required funding sources and complete background checks, as applicable. 
This position reports to the President. 
Positions Supervised (Direct Reports): 
  • Regional Director(s) 
  • Clinical Director or Associate Clinical Director 
  • Potential for additional direct reports over time. 
Job Requirements: 
  • 10 years of experience leading healthcare operations across multiple sites/geographies, preferably within the Behavior Health / ABA industries. 
  • Located in or willing to relocate to California. 
  • Ability to be in the field at least 25% of the time. 
  • This position may require driving 30 to 60 (or more) miles a day when conducting field visits to Intercare clinics or home service locations, quarterly travel to additional Intercare territories outside of Southern California, as well as occasional travel outside of regular business hours to attend Executive Leadership Team meetings and serve as a company representative at conferences (internal and industry) and in new markets in development
