Job Description

The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for comprehensive HR Support for Albemarle/Ketjen employees. This role is an employee-facing role where the HR Operations Specialist is learning business operations to assist with resolving HR related issues. The specialist will provide exceptional service to both our internal and external partners through a variety of channels which includes in-person, telephone, ServiceNow (ticket/case management system) and email.

In this role, the specialist will support, manage, and investigate all inquiries and requests through a successful resolution of completion. Will perform administrative, transactional and data/records management in support of HR and HRIS functions with customer service in mind as well as professionalism, accuracy, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first HR support point of contact by receiving, managing and resolving the life cycle of employee inquiries and/or concerns from start to finish in a timely, accurate and professional manner
  • This role adapts to the needs of the employee experience by accurately answering inquiries, providing in depth guidance and support to Albemarle/Ketjen employees seeking appropriate solutions
  • Deliver professional, reliable and exceptional customer support to all inquiries, exhibiting a customer-centric approach and ensuring high satisfaction levels
  • Ensure the quality of interactions is consistent with enhancing the employee experience and relationships with our Center of Excellence (COE) and Human Resource partners
  • Manage, investigate and respond to inquiries, either in person, phone, email or case management to a successful resolution
  • Collaborate with our COE (Center of Excellence) Partners or necessary support teams to ensure employees are provided with a resolution for questions or concerns via the case/ticket management system
  • Apply critical thinking skills to identify and analyze mid to complex employee related issues in order to focus on the understating of root causes and exploring potential solutions
  • Prioritize and organize the urgency of request while researching and resolving inquiries
  • Utilize available resources to accurately answer questions, complete requests and ultimately resolve employee and HR inquiries
  • Actively contribute to delivering, maintaining and improving HR services, procedures and processes to increase employee satisfaction, drive performance and achieve successful results
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive and/or confidential employee information
  • Follow set standard procedures when completing inquiries via the ticket management system
  • Ensure that every interaction with both our internal and external stakeholders operate in alignment with the Albemarle Core Values: Care, Curiosity, Collaboration, Humility, Accountability, and Integrity
  • Contributes to the daily operations of the Human Resources department and support special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge and stay up to date with the HR policies, processes and procedures and be agile to sudden continuous improvement changes.
  • Perform duties according to service level agreements
  • May perform additional duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of core HR business functions, HR Concepts and HR terminology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively answer employee (all levels) inquiries with a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, and organizational skills
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent and sound judgement
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a desire to provide exceptional service with each employee interaction
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple, competing priorities and short deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential/ sensitive matters
  • Ability to be agile with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Solid ability to grasp information quickly and probe optimally when required
  • Demonstrate effective research, and follow through skills
  • Ability to remain positive under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Requires knowledge of computer programs and applicable software (Microsoft Office, Workday - preferred, not required, ServiceNow - preferred, not required)

Qualifications

  • 4 years of Human Resources or Customer Service experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education, military experience
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • PHR or Professional in Human Resources designation preferred, but not required
