Your day-to-day work will include:

The purpose of the Defense Civilian Training Corps (DCTC) program is to target critical skills gaps necessary to achieve the objectives of the national defense strategies by preparing students selected for Department of Defense (DoD) careers relating to the acquisition, digital technologies, critical technologies, science, engineering, finance, and other civilian occupations determined by the Secretary of Defense. It is an “ROTC-like” program to recruit and prepare students for DoD civilian careers.

The DCTC Program Controls Analyst will support the coordination, implementation, and management of DCTC efforts. This project must keep pace with leadership priorities, manage initiative milestones (including Congressional Reports and Under Secretary of Defense (USD)-level briefings), and ensure proper senior leader coordination and engagement (across the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OSD(A&S)), OSD(Research and Engineering (R&E)), OSD(Personnel and Readiness (P&R)), the military departments, and others).

  • Support DCTC leadership in managing the operations of the program.
  • Manage, track, and enable program milestones, project schedules, and work breakdown structure (WBS).
  • Maintain awareness of and communication status of progress towards program goals through coordination and collaboration with team leads.
  • Utilize strong business judgment and communication skills to interact with a variety of consultants, internal and external stakeholders, and management.
  • Develop and drive process improvements across multiple teams and functions.
  • Develop, analyze, and manage complex project plans.
  • Develop monthly status reports on the DCTC program’s accomplishments, risks, and issues.
  • Manage, monitor, and mitigate project or component risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Monitor and control overall project performance and quality against plan and make adjustments, as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for automation of program management tasks.
  • Communicate tough issues to stakeholders and keep an independent opinion.
  • Provide leadership briefings, memos, talking points, and other preparatory materials, as needed.
  • Under general supervision, employees will be expected to exercise sound and independent judgment and consistently exercise discretion.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Mandatory:

  • 5-7 years of related experience supporting the DoD, Uniformed Services, or Fourth Estate (Defense Agencies, Field Activities, etc.).
  • Ability to effectively interface with senior DoD SES staff, academia, and industry in meetings, workshops, and forums.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem solver with experience supporting strategy development and implementation.
  • Experience communicating with technical and non-technical team members or senior leadership; ability to clearly explain complex scenarios.
  • Ability to proactively identify risks, opportunities and threats to program threats and present solutions.
  • Excellent meeting management skills and Microsoft Office Suite product skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting OSD(A&S), OSD(R&E), or OSD(P&R) is highly preferred.
  • Experience with ROTC at an accredited college or university is a plus.
  • Experience with scholarship administration programs is a plus.
  • Experience leading project teams in a large matrixed organization.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).

Mandatory: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Business Administration, or a related field

Waivable/Substitutable:An additional equivalent 2 years of work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement, including experience managingprojects.

Work hours:

Here at Aeyon we believe in creating an environment that fosters a healthy work/ life balance. The typical day consists of a 9-5 Monday-Friday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week, but we do realize that life happens, and things come up. Many of our positions allow some flexibility in the work schedule for unforeseen events so that our employees can maintain a 40-hour work week and still have the opportunity to meet other obligations during the workday.
