Director, Program Management
The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is the top professional women's soccer league in the USA, with 14 teams and 300 of the best soccer players globally. In its 12th season, the league continues to grow exponentially. The NWSL is shattering all-time fan attendance records with 2023 season shattering attendance and viewership records. In November 2023, the NWSL made history in announcing a four-year deal as the biggest deal in women's professional sports with four new broadcast partners for the 2024 season: Amazon Prime Video, CBS, ESPN and Scripps/ION.
With fans of NWSL teams growing at an unprecedented rate, the Director, Program Management role is a unique opportunity for a dynamic leader to execute tentpole events that build our brand and will shape the future of the sport.
Position Description We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to join our People & Culture team. The incumbent will play a key role in executing the broader team's deliverables by establishing streamlined delivery processes, clear ownership models and project tracking mechanisms. This role will partner closely with the Chief People & Culture Officer to plan and drive the execution of league wide people programs and initiatives that attract, engage, and retain talent on and off the pitch.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Create a repeatable program delivery process centered on efficiency and thoughtful execution.
  • Plan, track, and direct the delivery of people programs including but not limited to; format and design, cross-functional collaboration, project management (charters, ownership models, milestone tracking, communication and training plans) and program after action reviews.
  • Partner with key stakeholders on athlete career programming activations.
  • Triage inquiries and connect questions to the appropriate subject-matter expert/team when necessary (People Partners, Operations, DEI, Player Safety etc.).
  • Maintain a master People & Culture calendar outlining key deliverables and program launches.
  • Host project health meetings to ensure all stakeholders are informed and on task.
  • Leverage and analyze people and organizational data to drive recommendations.
  • Develop a framework to report on key HR metrics on a regular cadence, provide insights, and help with recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, business or related fields
  • 7 years of experience in organizing, managing, and executing complex projects in various HR fields (organizational design, workforce planning, talent metrics)
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to create a narrative with data.
  • Relevant Human Resources experience in partnering with managers on full employment lifecycle touchpoints.
  • Strong business acumen and change management skills.
  • Solution orientated, drives recommendations and prioritization.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrates curiosity to gather business acumen and culture, learns rapidly and eagerly.
  • Possesses program management skills including planning work, prioritizing and managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, time management, and delivering results with tight deadlines.
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to develop and execute a comprehensive and effective communication plan for project roll out across the organization. Ability to adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex issues clearly and succinctly.
  • Has proven ability to think and move quickly, manage multiple priorities, and make difficult tradeoffs to meet deadlines, especially in fast-paced ambiguous environments.

Salary: 120K-150K - 10% bonus eligible based on performance.
