As a Deputy Program Manager (DPM), supporting Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), you will be trusted to serve with the Program Manager to manage the day-to-day Project Management Support, Core Agency Financial Management Support and Decentralized Financial Management Support at DARPA. In this role, a typical day will include: • Assuming responsibility and oversight of the contract when Program Manager is unavailable.• Assisting the Program Manager with all stages and types of functional area-specific initiatives ranging from proposal or requirements definition to project planning to execution and implementation.• Analyzing and evaluating complex textual and/or quantitative information in order to make recommendations for corrections or improvements in processes, operations, or policies.• Preparing reports, statistical data and ad hoc deliverables for the Contracting Officer Representative (COR), Technical Office(s) Assistant Directors and the Corporate Office.• Training and mentoring associates on accounting principles and DoD financial policies, directives and DARPA internal business policies and procedures. • Identifying program task needs and risks and join forces with stakeholders and other support staff to work through and resolve very complex issues. • Collaborating with management team to develop work plans, reports, quality checks, and continuous improvements to ensure work performed is compliant Performance Work Statement (PWS). • Exercising sound judgement under high pressure and always conduct business with the highest level of professionalism.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:• A Master’s degree in business or related field of study. o Twelve (12) years of work experience may be substituted for the MA/MS degree. Further, a BA/BS plus eight (8) years of work experience may be substituted for a MA/MS degree.• A minimum of five (5) years of specialized experience in:o Management experience in similar services.o Knowledge of accounting principles and DoD financial policies and directives.o The ability to analyze and prepare financial documents in compliance with the DoD FMR and Audit Readiness (FIAR) guidelines.o Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.o Experience with automated systems to included database maintenance and reporting.o The individual in this role will need to be proactive and willing to handle a variety of general administrative, program management, and technical support duties simultaneously.o Sound oral and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail.• Advanced experience with Excel & PowerPoint is highly desired.• Defense Agency Initiative (DAI) highly desirable.• An active secret clearance is required.
