Description:

• Develop, and optimize hardware systems for data collection ground and flight platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of hardware components.
• Conduct research, analysis, and trade studies to select appropriate hardware solutions, taking into account performance, weight, power consumption, and cost considerations.
• Create and maintain detailed hardware requirements specifications and documentation for drone components and systems.
• Develop and execute hardware testing procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues in a timely manner to ensure the reliability and performance of our data collection systems.
• Utilize test instrumentation and measurement tools such as multimeter, oscilloscope, accelerometers, thermocouples, and data logging equipment to support troubleshooting and hardware test.
• Participate in the development of prototypes and contribute to the overall design and development process, authoring content for and coordinating design reviews.
• Provide technical support and expertise to internal Operations and Maintenance teams to resolve field issues and develop novel hardware sustainment solutions as required.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation in data collection ground and flight hardware development.
• Conduct telemetry log analysis to assess vehicle and payload flight performance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in hardware design and development.
• Strong understanding of electrical design, materials selection, electronic circuits, and sensors.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling and CAD tools for hardware design.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and demonstrated experience of applying the Root Cause Corrective Action process.
• Sound understanding of the Systems Engineering Process.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong written technical documentation skills.
• Self-motivated with a passion for innovation and technology.
