This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from earth to the Lunar Surface.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team, you will contribute to the design of the Electrical Power System (EPS) for future space vehicles. EPS scope includes power generation, storage, regulation, control, and distribution to vehicle subsystems and payloads. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration, and your dedicated commitment and detailed attention will further the cause of safe and repeatable spaceflight. 

In this role, you will support system sizing and performance analyses of the Electrical Power System and related hardware. You will maintain system budgets to ensure the EPS is adequately sized for safe and reliable operations in space. You should expect that this foundational part of our vision will require excellent communication and teamwork. 

You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assess energy and power demands on the Electrical Power System across various mission profiles
• Coordinate and maintaining power allocations to vehicle consumers
• Support trades studies and supply knowledge to help down-select spacecraft electrical power system architectures appropriate for mission requirements
• Developing technical artifacts for subsystem and program gated reviews
• Support the alignment, documentation, and consistent implementation of Lunar Permanence System engineering practices across applicable projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Aerospace or related disciplines

• Proficiency with MATLAB and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and supply to a culture of collaboration
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired:

• M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area
• Experience in system-level and circuit-level modeling and simulation
• Experience with Python or related interpreted language

• General knowledge of overall systems engineering process
