Reports to: Senior Manager of Accounting

Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is expected to maintain general ledger accounts, prepare general journals, and reconcile balance sheet accounts. This individual should be a strong communicator, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines. Organization, analytical skills, and strong attention to detail are critical to this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage and record fixed assets and association depreciation.
• Manage and record prepaid general ledger accounts.
• Book expenses related to fleet expenditures.
• Manage and record inventory adjustments and reserves.
• Prepare various monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Reconcile and post journal entries related to undeposited funds.
• Engage in projects as needed.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Above average Excel skills including v-lookups, formulas, and pivot tables.
• Prior experience with month-end close.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Self-starter who takes initiative and is motivated without constant direction.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of two years’ experience in public or corporate accounting required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred, Associates degree in Accounting required.
• Prior experience with ServiceTitan and Sage Intacct software platforms is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at a time.
