The HR Business Partner for the Southern California and Utah region is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to the Human Resources management function. This includes serving as the point person for HR related issues and inquiries from managers and employees. The HR BP is responsible for ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state employment laws. This includes coordinating and facilitating employee on-boarding and off-boarding, and maintaining employee records and ensuring all procedures are followed in line with company policies, industry best practices and legal guidance. The ideal candidate for this position should have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of HR operations. They will also need experience with HR systems (WorkDay) and Microsoft Office applications. Able to demonstrate required skills in critical thinking, influence, problem solving, change management, project and program management, training and skill development, succession management, leadership development. Serve as the main point of contact for general HR inquiries including but not limited to policies, employee data, benefits, HR systems and providing top-notch support to our employees and business leaders. Maintain employee records and ensure legal compliance. Distribute and track employee document agreements. Provide support to the business by creating reports, tracking metrics, and managing project timelines. Current knowledge of legal trends, regulatory changes, best practices in HR, talent management and California and Utah employment law. Proficiency in employee relations, conducting investigations and handling sensitive information with confidentiality and diplomacy. SALARY: The expected salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, education and licensing certifications, geographic location, approved salary budget as well as the specific position’s business line, complexity, scope and level. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE: You are perfect for this opportunity if you: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or a related field required. Five to seven years of Human Resources experience in a client facing role. Preferably insurance industry knowledge and experience. Ability to develop positive relationships with all levels of the organization (executive to front line) and be seen as a trusted business partner for all HR needs. Customer service focused: the ability to communicate consistently and clearly, respond with empathy and professionalism, and manage expectations. Comfortable leading and participating in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills, and very high attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines without compromising quality. Excellent time management with a high sense of urgency and a proven ability to meet deadlines. The ability to maintain confidentiality and use the utmost discretion and use sound judgement in sensitive situations. Proficient in using HR systems and tools, developing and facilitating presentations, and comfortable with public speaking.
