4D Recovery is Hiring a Financial Analyst Near Portland, OR

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting the financial processes of the organization. This includes supporting the monthly close process by preparing various journal entries and all reconciliations, supporting the cash receipts process by preparing the cash receipts log and invoicing preparation for various contracts, providing operational support for modeling program outcomes and measurement to pre-defined key performance indicators and general support to the Finance department as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the monthly close process.
  • Responsible for various balance sheet and other journal entries highlighted in the closing log.
  • Responsible for preparing the payroll journal entry from Payroll provider, including reviewing payroll allocations against budgets.
  • Review monthly prepaid and deferred automatic journal entries. Enter any additional end of month journal entries. Create and enter end of year journal entries to various asset, liability and equity accounts.
  • Prepare the monthly credit card reconciliation entry.
  • Post cash receipts as required.
  • Manage contract reporting requirements and invoicing.
  • Review new grant contracts and grant accounting manuals with Operations Director to align organizational activities with spending budgets.
  • Create monthly reimbursement invoices and help set up tracking system in accounting software.
  • Work with Program Directors as needed to ensure accurate contract reporting and invoicing requirements are completed.
  • Reconcile donations database against accounting general ledger.
  • Create spreadsheets to track various data including deferred revenue, grant tracking, administrative de minimis, etc.
  • Complete weekly cash receipts log and generate weekly deposits as needed.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • This position typically requires an Associate's Degree in a Finance-related field and 2 years of accounting experience, or a High School diploma or GED equivalent and 5 years of work experience in the accounting field.
  • Must have reliable transportation or maintain a valid driver’s license for state of residency and have a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage. All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle, must complete the agency’s driving approval process before they drive for work.
  • Intermediate experience with Google Workspace (including Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.) and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
  • Experience with reviewing company financial data and providing budgeting and financial forecasting support as needed.
  • 2 years experience with Accounts Receivable and accounting software.
  • Ability to create detailed reports summarizing and organizing data into accessible reports utilizing key metrics or comparisons as requested.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must be dependable, flexible and punctual, and exhibit strong time management skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing. Able to clearly articulate information to people of varying cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Must love software and math.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1 year(s) experience working in the nonprofit field.
  • Intermediate Quickbooks, Sage Intacct or other accounting software skills.
  • Intermediate experience with Jotform, Google forms, or other form building software.
  • Experience with Credit Card management.
  • Knowledge of administrative, fundraising, and programming funds.

JOB DETAILS

Pay: $30-$34/hr, 40 hours per week, overtime exempt

Schedule: Flexible, M-F in office (some hybrid flexibility)
