We are a small, local developer and investment manager, deeply committed to environmental and social sustainability as we work to provide affordable housing. As our Financial Analyst, you will be our Excel Guru - our magician of the numbers - as you provide financial analysis and modeling of real estate investments and development projects for our portfolio of Affordable and Middle income urban, suburban, and mixed-use assets throughout the greater northwest.

Your role will include:

  • Maintaining [CN1] [JS2] accurate and up-to-date forecasts, Excel models, financial projections, pro formas, and quarterly valuation reports, while improving methods and analytics.
  • Customize individual financial models for specific transactions, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain version-controlled financial model templates in Excel that include monthly and annual cashflows, various capital stack inputs, financing assumptions, and capital spending.
  • Collaborate closely with acquisitions on the due diligence and underwriting of potential acquisitions and support the financial analysis, project underwriting, and business plan development.
  • Assisting in loan and debt reporting requirements and monthly reports to lenders.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Gather, absorb and analyze financial information, including rent rolls, income and expense statements, lease documents, tax statements, tenant financials, appraisals, and other important elements of deals under consideration to determine accuracy and identify information gaps.
  • Providing market analysis to the broader team that help inform investment strategy.
  • Update and revise financial analysis through execution and ongoing operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and projects.

What we expect of our team:

  • Alignment and Strategic Prioritization– You understand the Firm’s priorities and goals. You ensure that your time is spent in alignment with the priorities and values of our firm and actively mentor or manage team members to be on the same page.
  • Initiative – You actively seek out new ways of doing things and bring recommendations to the table. Once you think of, or hear about, a new solution, you implement it.
  • Collaboration– You actively seek out input and support from other team members and offer your input and support when others seek you out, because you know that our problems are better solved together. You identify and include other essential team members, and routinely update and proactively communicate with all team members. You recognize, and explicitly give credit for, the skills and abilities of those you work with, trusting them to do the same for you.
  • Continuous Communication - You are transparent and clear – verbally and in writing – in service to the team being on the same page. You commit to making the implicit explicit. Even when communication is difficult, you share what you know, see, feel, or experience.
  • Stewardship - You promote sustainability and incorporate the mission of Edlen & Co. into your work every day. You take accountability for the role you play in driving more sustainable, resilient and equitable outcomes.

This is a hybrid role, working 3 to 4 days per week in the office the remaining days from the location of your choice.
