Job purpose

The Vice President of Programming is a key leadership role responsible for spearheading the development and management of new and existing programs that align with the organization's goals and mission. This individual must be a highly motivated and visionary individual ready to make a difference in areas of critical impact. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of the healthcare sector, excellent strategic planning skills, and a proven track record of successfully implementing innovative programs.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develops and executes a comprehensive programming strategy aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
  • Identifies opportunities for the creation of new programs and initiatives that address the healthcare needs of the community we serve.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including medical professionals, administrators, and stakeholders, to ensure programs align with evidence-based practices and industry standards.
  • Oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all programs to ensure their effectiveness and impact.
  • Monitors program performance and outcomes, analyzing data and making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Allocates resources efficiently to support program activities and ensure budget compliance.
  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with external partners, community organizations, and healthcare providers to enhance program efficacy and expand reach.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative environment and promote shared objectives.
  • Stays up to date with relevant healthcare policies, regulations, and industry trends to ensure the organization's programs comply with all applicable laws and standards.
  • Implements and maintains ethical practices in program development and execution, adhering to organizational values and principles.
  • Promotes a culture of innovation, creativity, and accountability within the team.
  • Provides regular reports on program progress, achievements, and challenges to the executive leadership and board of directors.
  • Effectively communicates program objectives, results, and impact to internal and external stakeholders through presentations, reports, and other channels.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in program development and management within the healthcare sector, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare administration, public health, or a related discipline). A master's degree is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership experience in guiding teams and managing complex projects, with a track record of successful program implementations.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements, as well as experience working in a healthcare organization is highly preferable.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to build effective partnerships and foster collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, develop long-term plans, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Passion for the organization's mission and commitment to improving healthcare outcomes for the community.
  • Ability to work in a complex team environment and to collaborate with both external and internal professionals and other customers.

Working conditions

  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.

  • May require the occasional ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
