Objectives:

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and monitor safety operations for continuous improvement focused on providing a safe workplace for our employees and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  2. Create plans and strategies to reduce the company EMR and improve other safety-related measures.
  3. Manage safety policy and procedure design and implementation.
  4. Participate in root cause analyses (RCA) for adverse or near-miss events.
  5. Maintain awareness of relevant legal and regulatory requirements and assist with reporting, facilitating surveys, and follow-up action plans as required.
  6. Assume responsibility for continuing education utilizing formal and informal resources.
  7. Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management, communication, and risk mitigation.
  8. Direct work area inspections, property damage, and personal injury investigations.
  9. Review documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate, and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.
  10. Manage vendor and customer relationships in an ethical and professional manner at all times.
  11. Manage and monitor safety operations for continuous improvement focused on providing a safe workplace for our employees and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  12. Conduct yourself inside and outside the office in a manner that reflects the dignity and professional attitude of 1910 Legacy Enterprises. Foster and maintain a superior customer service attitude across the company.
  13. Handle customer, vendor, and employee requests, complaints, and problems in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.
  14. Manage detailed incident investigation, loss mitigation, and the timely resolution of various claims relating to General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Professional Liability, Premises Liability, and Automobile claims to include Hired Non-Owned specifically (HNOA) Coverage.
  15. Attend loss review meetings upon renewal or as determined by claims activity.
  16. Assist construction and project managers in controlling the risk process by continuously monitoring efforts for new, changing, and outdated risks.
  17. Apply techniques, such as variance and trend analysis, requiring performance information generated during program/project execution. Assist in the control of the risk process by assisting program and project managers with choosing alternative strategies, executing a contingency or fallback plan, taking corrective action, and modifying the program management plan.
  18. Analyze existing policy and process gaps and develop solutions to close them.
  19. Participate in crisis management activities in the event of an emergency at a project.

Qualifications and Skills

  1. Conducts self with high attention to safety, setting an example for all to follow professionally and personally.
  2. Four-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
  3. At least 5 years of construction and/or industrial safety experience. Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company regulations.
  4. Proficient in data analysis and risk assessment.
  5. Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with an ability to make immediate decisions for effective conflict resolution.
  6. Excellent presentation and training skills.
  7. Ability to pay particular attention to detail, good decision-making skills, and the ability to approach and handle problems strategically.
  8. Exercise strong judgment in areas where policies are not well defined.
  9. Operate with high integrity and discretion to handle confidential information.
  10. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or problem approaches and recommend the most appropriate course of action.
  11. Effective negotiation and time management skills
  12. Possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and be a team player
  13. Demonstrate an ability to establish transparent, candid relationships while maintaining high standards of integrity.
  14. Organized, independent, and autonomous, able to set and meet own deadlines and prioritize work with minimal guidance.
  15. Ability to think critically with the vision to work tactically and strategically.
  16. Computer and software skills include database applications, e-mail, spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
