100 The Metropolitan Museum of Art is Hiring a Remote Legal Assistant

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: The Legal Assistant supports staff attorneys in all legal and administrative functions, including calendar management, document preparation, file management, and internal/external communications. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Coordinate and schedule meetings, Paralegal work, such as assisting in the preparation of subpoena productions, agreements, applications, annual filings and reports. Maintain organized project tracking system Draft correspondence Maintain digital and paper files Manage Calendars Prepare files for deposit in Museum Archives. Answer incoming calls and transfer or take messages, as necessary Coordinate travel and submit expense reports Collaborate with legal assistant team to ensure proper coverage of office duties Prepare and ship mailings Other duties, as assigned REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree. Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form. Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent organizational skills required. Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, PowerPoint and Adobe software. Able to independently manage different tasks simultaneously and efficiently. COMPENSATION RANGE: Pay Range: $40.00 - $42.00 / Hourly The advertised pay scale reflects the good faith minimum and maximum salary range for this role. The advertised pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage for any specific employee. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors. Location Requirements At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
