Job Title: Contractor Sales Rep
Job Objective: The Contractor Sales Rep effectively promotes strategic products to General Contractors, Flooring Contractors, Landscape Architects and End Users, with the ultimate intention of gaining a confirmed project specification and generating a sale. He/she develops selling relationships required to exceed both company and personal sales goals.
Planning:
Creates written daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity plans that exceed sales and profit goals.
Schedules weekly activity plans and has activities scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
Reviews activity on a weekly basis with Manager.
Brand Building and Market Share:
Performs at least 2 product/CEU luncheons or similar events per month.
Maintains a current list of products sampled for each customer.
Maintains customer libraries in clean, organized manner with architectural tools properly labeled.
Presents our full line of products daily to end users, firms and flooring contractors.
Regularly engages with customers in a social setting outside of the work environment to foster relational development.
Prospecting:
Identifies, plans and tracks activity for 10 new prospects per quarter.
Makes appropriate new sales calls and tracks activity on new prospecting customers, securing appointments with decision making individuals.
Analyzing Needs:
Understands the customer and identifies their potential needs before making sales calls.
Clearly communicates the advantages of our company’s products and services over the competitors in a professional manner.
Has a complete understanding of the products available, knows how to position price, knows associated lead times, and methods of procuring.
Performance:
Is available and responds in a timely manner to tasks necessary to service the account. This includes technical data, sample requests, quotations and availability questions.
Exceeds sales goals for both tile and non-tile products.
General Sales & Management:
Attends sales meetings and makes a positive contribution as requirements dictate.
Offers new ideas for products and sales strategies to management.
Identifies, maintains and actively participates in a minimum of one membership in local industry-based networking group as determined for the respective territory.

Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the commercial construction market.
Established relationships with key role players in the relevant industry.
