About The Role

Tread exists at the forefront of the baseball development world, training thousands of baseball players from High School to MLB All-Stars. These players flock from around the globe to Charlotte, North Carolina each year to train at Tread HQ: our state-of-the-art, 33,000 square-foot Headquarters.

As our Hiring Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that Tread has adequate staffing to keep pace with our growth and high standards.

Duties include sourcing exceptional candidates, reviewing applicants, drafting offer letters/job descriptions, onboarding new hires, and assisting with employee retention initiatives as needed. As Tread is a small to mid-sized company, this role also has aspects of a classic Recruiter role.

Our ideal candidate is outgoing, has prior experience in a similar role, is highly detail-oriented and has exceptional people skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying and anticipating staffing requirements for a new or open positions
  • Sourcing & filtering suitable candidates through databases, networking, social media, etc.
  • Creating accurate and detailed job descriptions to attract the best candidates, along with proposed salary structures for each opening
  • Marketing new job opportunities internally and seeking employee referrals
  • Interviewing shortlisted candidates and confirming the hire or presenting the suggested hire to executives for confirmation
  • Extending job offers and negotiating with candidates about job-related expectations and compensation
  • Onboarding new employees & completing all necessary documentation
  • Implementing strategies to develop and retain employees
  • Gather, analyze and report data on employee satisfaction and retention to executive team
  • Managing internship programs (collecting, sorting, corresponding with applicants and making selections for each relevant position)
  • Keeping up-to-date on current employment regulations and enforcing them within the company
  • Providing recruitment reports to team managers
  • Overseeing employee off-boarding processes and protocols
  • Assisting with retention strategies to create an A work environment

Skills and Qualifications

  • Related degree or prior experience as a hiring manager or a recruiter
  • Experience with recruitment processes and databases
  • The ability to design and implement recruiting strategies
  • A working knowledge of employment law and legislation
  • Excellent research skills
  • Top-notch interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
  • Capacity to mentor and develop new hires
  • Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities
  • In-depth understanding of appropriate duties and compensation for each position
  • Commitment to the sustained expansion of our team.
  • A sports background (preferred)
