About the Role

The private baseball development industry is broken.

1-Hour Lessons, 3-Day Clinics & 6-Week Velo Programs don't create lasting results.

At Tread, we measure Athletes in years, not sessions.

Our Performance Coaches occupy a unique space in the Player Development Universe, training thousands of baseball players from High Schoolers to Perennial MLB All-Stars remotely, in addition to hundreds on-site in our state-of-the-art, 33,000 square foot Headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Historically, we’ve trained almost exclusively Pitchers. But, what you may not know is that we’ve also provided training support to top-shelf Professional Catchers like Patrick Bailey [Giants], Joey Bart [Giants], Logan Driscoll [Rays], Kyle Higashioka [NYY > Padres], among others…

Tread views its Catchers as 100% NECESSARY to bridging the gap between Private Facility Development and On-field Performance for our Pitchers.

We fully intend to have every Bullpen Session caught by a qualified Catcher moving forward.

Catchers help control the flow of each throwing session, and in return receive comprehensive programming, hundreds of competitive at-bats, limitless training reps, and advanced defensive skill work with top-end arms.

It’s a massive WIN-WIN for both our Pitchers & Catchers.

As a Performance Coach for our Catchers, your focus will be on their position-specific development including Assessment, Program Prep, Strategy, and Education.

Tread offers a unique opportunity for you to focus your efforts and continually level-up your coaching skill-set far beyond where it is today.

Regular In-Services and ContinuingEd opportunities allow you to evolve your skill-set rapidly along with access to dozens of additional on-site resources including:

  • An In-House Data & Analytics Team
  • A Markerless Motion Capture System [Qualisys] & Biomechanics Team
  • Force Plates & Pitch Tracking Tech, including Hawkins Dynamic Plates, Trackman (5 ), HitTrax, Edgertronic, Chronos, and more…
  • High-end Analytics Softwares (TruMedia & more)
  • State-of-the-art Training Equipment (HackAttack, Spin Machines, Keiser, VBT and more)
  • A growing team of 40 passionate Performance Coaches…

You’ll be expected to contribute at a level unfamiliar to most. It will be uncomfortable and challenging. But, when you realize your true coaching potential, you unlock opportunities for significant professional and personal growth.

Tread provides the freedom to fail (forward) with appropriate guardrails and support the entire way.

Come join our game-changing team and lead the charge into all things Catching!

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and produce results with your core group of assigned Catchers/Hitters.
  • Participate in assigned Floor Hours with select in-house Catchers/Hitters.

  • Recruit & build Qualified Catchers to catch and train at Tread HQ.

  • Collaborate with our Content Team to produce high-quality Catcher Content and Educational Materials.
