Tri City Glass & Door is Hiring an Installer - Lead Near Appleton, WI

Summary: The Lead Installer delivers superior results installing storefront, curtain wall and other window and door systems throughout Wisconsin. This role serves as the point person on the job and is the link between the Project Manager and the customer or general contractor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
- Required to wear and use personal protective equipment per Tri City Glass & Door and contractor policies.
- Fabricate and install storefront, curtain wall, commercial windows and doors, heavy glass, and break metal.
- Read and understand work orders, shop drawings, and architectural plans.
- Ability to field measure openings and brake metal needs, while on the job site.
- Attend jobsite meetings while on site working and complete required paperwork and documentation.
- Assemble materials together with mechanical fasteners, rivets, and / or sealants.
- Handle raw glass and aluminum on a regular basis.
- Load and unload glass, aluminum frames and other products as needed.
- Alter aluminum materials and hardware as needed to maximize efficiency using hand tools and power tools, while on the job site.
- Maintain and have knowledge of existing and new products within the commercial department as well basic construction.
- Responsible for training Installers on all applicable job skills.
- Responsible for delegating to Installers, where appropriate to do so.
- Responsible for the quality of the finished product and service.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of company vehicle & job sites.
- Communicate with general contractor or customer details of job progress and any issues or concerns.
- Cross reference all work-orders with work to be completed.
- Read and understand installation instructions for any hardware or products used to complete the project.
- Ability to work from aerial lifts and scaffolding.
- Work on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Work outside all year long.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, tape measures, levels, power tools, etc.
- Ability to work well in teams.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 3-5 years of glazing experience preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment will be outdoors year-round installing aluminum windows, entrances, storefronts, glass, and other commercial specialty products as needed.
