Human Resources Manager

Our growing, state-of-the-art facility in Erie, PA has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to join our dynamic management team. The HR Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational activities to support the production facility to develop, enhance and execute procedures and policies in alignment with company goals and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Manager is a hands-on, feet-on-the-ground team member who provides full cycle, day-to-day HR support across all levels. To be successful in this role, the HR Manager must be a self-starter with intellectual curiosity and willing to roll up their sleeves and dig into the details.

This position is a working management position and is responsible for all the administrative and management duties needed to provide human resources services to all departments and employees in the company. The HR Manager is responsible for all human resources functions including policies and procedures, recruiting and hiring, onboarding, employee relations, and training and development.

**Only candidates with previous HR manufacturing experience will be considered**

What you’ll do:

  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Prepare paperwork, schedule and facilitate a smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first day experience.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics and timely resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Maintain employee electronic files.
  • Promote HR programs to create efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  • Create an environment of positive employee relations, keep confidentiality, establish trust and credibility, balance business needs with employees needs and spends time interfacing directly with employees on the production floor.
  • Investigate issues timely and address swiftly ensuring a fair resolution of issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include on the job training, safety training, anti-harassment training, and certifications.
  • Attend, participate and document disciplinary meetings and terminations.
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What will make you stand out?

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Employee Relations, or related field
  • 5 years with broad-based, progressive HR generalist background.
  • Thorough knowledge of HR procedures, policies and metrics.
  • Technical competence in all traditional HR functions.
  • Working knowledge of federal and PA state employment laws is critical.
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Teams
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, exceptional motivational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening, speaking and writing.
  • Must be highly organized, ability to multi-task, and plan and prioritize.
  • Solid time management skills with the ability to produce quality and accurate work under pressure.
