The CDC Foundation seeks a full-time Epidemiologist to support a project designed to increase health security in eight countries by assessing their capacity to systematically detect and respond to a disease threat. The Epidemiologist will support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Global Health Security Agenda Team within the Division of Global Health Protection (DGHP), in collaboration with CDC country offices and additional external partners. The overall aim of the project is to support the engagement of and strengthen health security activities in selected countries through the use of tools to assess capacity for International Health Regulations (IHR), such as the use of Benchmarks, Operational Planning, State Party Self-Assessment Annual Reporting (SPARs), Joint External Evaluation (JEEs), and Action Reviews, including 7-1-7. The Epidemiologist will support technical assistance efforts such as the development, utilization and evaluation of materials for Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM), Public Health Emergency Planning (PHEP) and 7-1-7 activities; distribute Operational Planning training materials with key stakeholders; provide support through Operational Planning and Action Reviews; development of internal and external-facing reports; and evaluation of the program. It is preferred that the applicant live in the Atlanta area and report to the CDC Clifton Campus 3 or 4 day a week when not traveling. This is a 12-month term limited position.
