Description
Under the direct supervision of the Unit Director or Charge Nurse, the Technician assumes the responsibilities for constant electrocardiographic monitoring with rapid, accurate notification of questionable patterns, and provides accurate documentation of information obtained from the cardiac monitoring equipment.
Educational Requirements:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Satisfactory completion of arrhythmia course with 80% accuracy on final exam. Complete training course on monitors.
Experience Requirements:
- EKG/arrhythmia interpretation background desired.
- Hospital oriented background desirable.
Special Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Fine motor skills, bending, stretching, sitting, standing. Possesses personal qualities such as kindness, empathy, understanding, respect, good judgement, integrity, loyalty, a sense of humor, and an ability to relate to people in humanistic manner while working in a stressful environment. Ability to distinguish colors and shading.
