Description

Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Director:

• Provides education, training, competency exams and mentors laboratory admission and phlebotomy staff
• Positively promotes the laboratory department & hospital
• Serves as a leader within the laboratory
• Implements the hospital's mission, goals, and objectives
• Provides exceptional professional clinical laboratory science services to all patients

Educational Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• National certification preferred but not required

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of one-year phlebotomy experience required
• Previous admission experience preferred but not required
• Experience with computers preferred but not required
• Knowledge of Medicaire, Medicaid, and insurance regulations preferred but not required

Special Requirements:

• CPR Certification within 4 weeks of start date
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must walk up and down two flights of stairs carrying a phlebotomy tray
• Medium lifting - generally up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to multi-task and work at a fast pace
