Sr Revenue Accountant
(6-month c ontract)
Location
- Alpharetta, GA 30009 (This is a hybrid role. Onsite Mon, Tues, & Thurs)
Overview
This role will be responsible for billing, collections, and reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory or contractual requirements. The position holder will support the cross-functional team on growth and enhancement projects as needed. The position holder will interact daily with customers answering questions and requests about billing and collections. They will also perform periodic credit reviews of the customer shipper population to ensure credit exposure is limited.
Responsibilities
- Monthly Billing Duties (50%)
- Produce weekly transportation invoices, ensuring accuracy prior to distribution.
- Prepare month-end billing for transmit and settlement gain loss invoices, verifying accuracy before emailing them along with accompanying reports to shippers.
- Generate any necessary manual invoices from Oracle for contractual billing purposes.
- Review terminal billing for accuracy before dispersal.
- Assist in the month-end close process by handling journal entries, reconciliations, and report generation.
- Cash Application and Collection Responsibilities (30%)
- Apply daily cash receipts across various company entities.
- Validate monthly interest invoices for accuracy and distribute them to customers.
- Monitor customer aging daily, promptly following up on any overdue receivables and escalating to management when necessary.
- Send bi-monthly statements to customers from Oracle.
- Other Tasks (20%)
- Monitor customer credit instrument expiration dates and request renewals as required, ensuring adherence to standard formats.
- Conduct assigned credit assessments on current customers in accordance with company credit policy, communicating changes to shippers and obtaining additional credit instruments when necessary.
- Participate in user acceptance testing for revenue-impacting projects.
- Deliver excellent customer service to shippers by promptly addressing inquiries in the revenue inbox.
- Update documentation as needed to reflect changes and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to fulfill audit requests.
- Handle special requests as they arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of Revenue Accountant Experience
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Proven understanding of billing and collections processes
- Excellent Microsoft Excel kills
- Ability to multi-task
Preferred /Nice to Have
- Oracle Systems Experience
- CPA
*** Pay: $40-50/hr (Compensation can vary depending on experience)
