Position Title
Construction Manager

Position Reports to: President

Supervises: Trade Partners

Location: Greater Salt Lake (Weber/Davis/Tooele/Salt Lake/ and Utah Counties)

Career Level: Manager (exempt)

Salary: $90,000 (DOE)

Hours: 8 AM-5PM or as otherwise approved

Auto Allowance: $600 / mo

Bonus: Based on completed homes and 100% customer satisfaction scores.

Target Total Annual Compensation (Including Auto): $125,0000


Minimum:
4 years working as a Construction Manger

Preferred: 5 year working as a Construction Manager

Experience
:

Minimum 4 years’ experience working in production home building with at least 18-months as the lead for a community(s).


Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly understand the direct construction costs budget and identify reduction opportunities.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise a minimum of 5 new starts per month.
  • Master the Builder Trend software system and manage:
    • All aspects of PO payments
    • All required schedule updates
    • Loading new jobs with associated cost reconciliation
    • Coordinating all bill payments for city fees, utilities, smaller trades with monthly charges (i.e. porta john, dumpster, etc.)
  • Coordinate all inspections and applicable trade follow through for corrections
  • Coordinate with Rocky Mountain and Dominion for temp and permanent utility service
  • Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and Trade Partners.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Review the work progress on daily basis.
  • Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging issues (Be forward thinking and problem solve without supervision).
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure 100% quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Ensure all homes are 100% complete at the Customer Walkthrough
  • Ensure 100% Customer Satisfaction Scores on every home.
  • Follow up with Customers 30/60/90 days after closing to address any issues or concerns for world class customer service

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of Quality Assurance experience in residential homebuilding.
  • Experience in city inspections, processes and procedures.
  • Proven working experience in construction management.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes means and methods.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages.
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture.”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management.
  • Leadership and human resources management skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under high levels of stress and ability to make independent decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Must possess a sense of expediency to meet deadlines.
  • Organization and follow-up skills are a must.
  • Ability to lead and train Assistant Construction Managers.
  • Desire to grow in the organization.
