Director of New Construction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent organizational and leadership abilities, and a proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects concurrently. The Director of New Construction Operations will be responsible for managing Project Managers while assisting efficiently leading all Assistant Project Managers, General Superintendents, and Sub Contractors while coordinating and supervising all other various operational aspects, ensuring observance to project plans, budgets, quality standards, safety regulations, and team building.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the construction operations team, establishing and executing the company's operational objectives and goals.
  • Assist with interviewing potential employees.
  • Training of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and General Superintendents.
  • Write, update, and train on standard operating procedures pertinent to new construction.
  • Provide proper documentation of employee issues to Human Resources.
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations, PMs, and multiple construction projects, ensuring their successful execution and completion within established timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies, including scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control measures.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, regularly reviewing and adjusting plans as needed to achieve project goals.
  • Monthly and Weekly project status updates and reporting. Daily report as required.
  • Coordinate and manage construction activities, including procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring timely availability and adherence to project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Manage and resolve any project-related issues, conflicts, and disputes, identifying and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain effective communication channels with clients, keeping them informed of project status, milestones, and any potential challenges or changes.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing project progress, key metrics, and potential risks.

Skills/Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in the Construction Industry with 5 years of project management experience
  • OSHA certification required, or ability to certify within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience as a Director of Construction Operations or in a similar role, with a successful track record of managing multifamily construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire project teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building effective relationships with clients, contractors, and team members.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools with Procore and Blue Beam experience a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
