Invoice Processing
- Review and verify invoices and check requests.
- Sort, code, and match invoices to purchase orders.
- Set invoices up for payment and enter them into the accounting system.
- Prepare and perform transaction processing for electronic transfers and payments.
- Prepare and process checks for mailing.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Maintain vendor files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
- Reconcile monthly statements and related transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing by providing relevant reports.
- Maintain accurate historical records by filing documents.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements
- Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
