Job Summary

Are you passionate about leveraging digital communication channels to connect communities and enhance local government services? We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Coordinator to join our Broadband department dedicated to promoting and enhancing our local government internet services through a variety of events and outreach initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events and campaigns aimed at improving internet access, awareness, and engagement among local residents.
As the Communications Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in event planning and execution, working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless logistics. You'll also be responsible for content creation, crafting engaging materials for promotions and maintaining a consistent online presence. Building strong community engagement is another key aspect of this role, where you'll serve as a bridge between the local government and residents, addressing their inquiries and concerns. Implementing digital marketing strategies and analyzing engagement metrics will be essential to measure the success of your communication efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides research, writing and editing information for use in news releases, feature stories, advertising copy, newsletters, web pages, brochures and official letters.
  • Compiles and prepares records or reports.
  • Proofreads and edits print and web content.
  • Provides logistical support for special events and other programs.
  • Participates in development of general public information and marketing of Utilities projects or programs.
  • Coordinates distribution of information to employees, the media and/or the general public.
  • Creates presentation materials, including PowerPoint.
  • Tracks completed projects for inclusion in quarterly office reports.
  • Respond to citizen and customer inquiries, via telephone or email.
